USDA Certified Organic

Alexander Ranch Microgreens are proudly certified USDA Organic and are produced
according to the USDA organic standards. The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) integrates cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Organic certification means that farmers and businesses have met strict standards for the growing, processing, and handling of their products.

Organic Certifiers

Alexander Ranch Microgreens are certified USDA Organic through Organic Certifiers, a third-party certification agency accredited by the USDA NOP.

CDFA Organic Certification

Alexander Ranch Microgreens are certified organic through the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA).

Non-GMO Project Verified

Alexander Ranch produce is verified as compliant with the Non-GMO Project Standard. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs) are organisms that have been manipulated through the gene-splicing techniques of biotechnology which allow DNA from one species to be inserted into another species in a laboratory, creating combinations of plants, animals, bacteria, and viral genes that do not occur in nature or traditional crossbreeding methods. A growing body of evidence connects GMOs with health problems, detrimental effects on biodiversity and environmental health, and violation of farmers’ and consumers’ rights. The Non-GMO Project offers North America’s only independent, third party verification for products produced according to rigorous best practices for GMO avoidance. The Non-GMO Project is committed to preserving and building sources of non-GMO products, educating consumers, and providing verified non-GMO choices. We support your right to know and trust what is in your food and to choose Non-GMO.

PrimusGFS Certification

Alexander Ranch is certified to the Primus Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard through Ceres Certifications International. GFSI is a global food industry organization that creates and implements a food safety benchmarking framework for the continuous improvement of food safety management systems to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.

In today’s marketplace, food safety verification and confidence are critical. Over the last few years, retailers and food service companies have pushed for auditing schemes that are accepted worldwide. This drive for standardization created the GFSI which insures the movement towards the goal of global food safety. PrimusGFS is a GFSI recognized auditing body whose standards include Good Agricultural Practices (GAP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) as integral aspects of achieving food safety certification. Alexander Ranch consistently passes the annual PrimusGFS third party audit with the highest scores.

Our food safety team is trained and maintains certification in the application of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) which is designed to prevent food contamination from microbiological, chemical, and physical hazards. The HACCP approach focuses on the prevention of food safety hazards before they can occur by assessing the entire production process from cultivation, harvest, storage, and distribution and applying preventative controls at critical points along the production process. Our food safety program is proactive, the staff is trained to understand how their work fits into the HACCP plan and we pride ourselves on the knowledge that every employee understands how their specific tasks aid in the overall safety and quality of Alexander Ranch produce.
